Location

Description

The Rash is a wonderful Dales house, renovated, with an eye to charm, the comfort, the beautiful upper Swaledale, a stone's throw from the attractive village muke your (sorry, not pet). Visit the September muke your Show, or come at any time muke your torgey.
Sleeps up to 9, 5 bedrooms, the house will always be your home, a spectacular rural environment. Originally a farmhouse, the attached barn was converted into the impressive great dining room. A field 120 meters from the main road, the house has a nice view to the surrounding mountains, walks on the doorstep. The Farmer, the Arms, and the nearby muke on, just a 1/4 mile walk, good local real ale and great food. Free wifi sorry, NO PETS. FRIDAY TRANSITION week bookings, short breaks are welcome (not in peak periods). NOTE, please, send your Question, instead of the Request to the Book.

The house is a spacious living room with a multi fuel stove (coal and logs included), as well as the tastefully furnished and decorated, lots of room for the guests. A very good dining room even more fuel, gas stove, a beautiful long dining table with the wonderful family gatherings.
The kitchen is well equipped, a wide hob, full size dishwasher, fridge/freezer (full size freezer). There is also a separate laundry, the washing machine and dryer, a ground floor cloakroom off the dining room, a downstairs shower room, TOILET. A wonderful, old feature is the stone chamber at the bottom of the stairs, original stone shelves (have been used as a cool room before refrigerators were invented!).
The feature stone staircase, 4 bedrooms, one dbl, one twin, one single and a bedroom that can be set up as a superking or twin (mention when booking how you want the room). I have a wooden high chair, but, sorry, I didn't crib.
Down the hallway, a family bathroom, with shower attachment and a shower and basin, TOILET.
Further down the hall, through the dining room, there is another dbl of bedrooms, and another staircase down to a kitchenette off the dining room.
All the Egyptian bed linen is included, as fluffy bath sheets, hand towels.
The setting is truly spectacular; a (fairly rough) track to the main road to Swaledale, the house is detached, no nearby houses surrounded by fields, pastures, with wonderful views of the mountains, although still only a short walk from the village muke the, shops, tea house, the church or the pub. The course will not be a problem in the cars (not in particular need for a 4x4), although it will not be possible to drive in the deep snow, or probably, if the ice. Muke is the top end of Swaledale, approximately 11 miles from Reeth, as well as the 7 miles of the spectacular Buttertubs road to Hawes in Wensleydale.
Of course, in the usual way can be negotiated by normal cars, but there is a place next to the highway, where the cars can park, if necessary. There is parking for 4 cars, although when parked on the hardstanding of the house, move the cars, it may be necessary (or in the park a little down the road).
There is no cell phone reception, although EE's signal can be found a mile up the dale. However, there is free wifi, a wired phone, The Rash, honesty box.
The garden is spacious, nice view, quality wooden garden furniture, where guests sit, or relax in the beautiful surroundings of the upper Swaledale.
In the house central heating in the biomass boiler, as well as the two logburning stoves, fuel included.
Free wifi sorry, NO PETS. FRIDAY to FRIDAY week bookings, short breaks welcome, please write us a short break price. You may need to accept the different changeover days in off-peak (November - mid-March), but between Easter and the end of October, we need him to Friday changeover, to accommodate the busy housewives.
